Any ideas on where to get decent used Beetle Parts?

I have a couple things I would like to replace in my car...but I want stock parts. Interior and exterior. I have aftermarket parts that I wanted...just need to find a good place to get some stock parts for good prices!

Swapping classic mini engine?

How easy is this to do. Theres a car on ebay that i love the look of, but would want to convert it back to a 1000cc engine, as opposed to the 1.3 cooper engine that the seller has had put in. My dad is good at mechanics, but how long would it take? Does every part under the bonnet have to come out? Is it just part of an engine that makes it a 1.3, like a block that you just swap or something? I apologise for my ignorance Thank you for any help and/or advice!

is it me or are there no cars on sale on ebay?

i just did a search for american cars on ebay and i barely found anything..only parts! there may have been a total of 20 cars of every model i looked for. i know the car economy is horrible now, but no cars on ebay!! is it me or there nothing for sale on ebaY??
i used to see over 1000 cars per model..now barely 20

when i look on ebay i only see a few cars i mostly see car parts and junk. its not just you there is nothing

Needing a few rather strange parts for project car ?

My boyfriend is currently working on a chop top S10 blazer and for removable top he wants a Hearse looking effect, I was wondering if anyone knew where I can find some Landau bars to add to the top to help with the Hearse look, I have looked on ebay and craigslist and google and can't seem to find any, Preferably from an older hearse, Like a 50's to 60's style hearse, Also does anyone know if or where I might find some tail lights, The ones from the old classic cars that have a bullet shape? that might fit an S10 blazer? Any tips and links would be greatly appreciated =)

well first of all, i would have your bf think long and hard for the undertaking of this project. for the time and money involved, he may be better off just purchasing a hearse. but, i do think it's great he's thinking "outside the box".

ok... my first suggestion would be if you haven't found any landau bars on ebay, to check with C.W. COACH out of OHIO.
he's bound to have parts cars and may even strip the landau bars and mail them to you.

but.. if you remember... the hearse was/is not the only car that had landau bars... think of the ford thunderbirds from the 60's. the landau bars on them were a bit smaller and might look better preportioned on a chevy S-10. (just my thoughts).

otherwise contact some hearse groups (yahoo groups have quite a few listings all over the US) you could post you are looking for a set of landau bars, and someone just may have a set laying around.

how easy is it to scrap a car and sell the parts on ebay?

my car died, engine they think, and the scrap yard is offering $600. I'm technically minded (engineering student) and i have lots of ebay experience. do you guys think it would be worth it to scrap it out myself? (looking for $2400, instead of just $600).
i think the demand is high, 94 toyota 4runner, but my theory is the fact that it's toyota makes it high-demand.

I believe that parting it, would be the best way to go. You can always get more money parting out a car or truck than scraping it. I'm not sure if you will be able to get $2400, but you can get a lot more than just $600. Ebay Motors is probably the most effective way to sale the parts. Also try advertising the parts in a local trader paper.
